After the Sand Fire of 2016 had been extinguished, and the fire crews had finished their work, I drove up to Santa Clarita from Los Angeles to see what nearly 40,000 acres of fire damage looked like. This is just a small glimpse of the devastation. I can't even imagine how terrifying it must've been for the brave firefighters battling the blaze, or for the thousands of people who live and work in the area. Fires like this are all too common in Southern California unfortunately, and it definitely won't be the last one the area experiences.
